Elber Lee, Ph.D.

General Manager/Chef Technology Officer

Elber is a seasoned entrepreneur with over 10 years of experience in the CGM industry and a co-founder of Indigo Diabetes. He has served as an expert advisor on CGM projects for McKinsey (China). With extensive experience in CGM R&D, Elber has a deep understanding of both technology and market needs. At Indigo, he led the development and commercialization of CGM using silicon photonics, managing a team of 40. He also successfully developed the world's first implantable spectrometer for CGM, advancing it to clinical trials.

 

Ethan Chen

Chef Market Officer

Ethan is a seasoned investor with deep expertise in global TMT sectors across private and public markets. Before joining AccuCGM, he was the China Partner at Alkeon Capital, a $30B hedge fund focused on technology investing, where he led coverage of Asia-related public stocks. His career spans roles at Raine Group in Beijing and New York, TA Associates in Hong Kong, and Baidu Ventures, where he helped launch an independent investment arm.

A firm believer in disruptive technology, Ethan has spent years advising and supporting top founders in building transformative businesses across consumer products, software, and online platforms. Now, in the era of AI-driven innovation, he is committed to leveraging his expertise to grow AccuCGM into a world-class medical device company—empowering individuals and their pets to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

 

David Ruan, Ph.D.

AI Lead

Prof. David Ruan is a Ph.D. advisor at the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT), Chinese Academy of Sciences. Former Senior Research Scientist at Abbott Diabetes Care's R&D division in the United States. .He completed his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering in 2017 at the University of Cambridge's Institute of Metabolic Science, where he was mentored by Professor Roman Hovorka, a Fellow of the UK Academy of Medical Sciences. From 2017 to 2021, Dr. Ruan worked as a Research Associate at the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism (OCDEM) and the Big Data Institute at the University of Oxford. Subsequently, from 2022 to late 2023, Dr. Ruan specializes in intelligent diabetes diagnosis and treatment, focusing on wearable technologies and advanced machine learning for chronic disease management. His research integrates mathematical modeling and data analytics to innovate medical diagnostics and therapies.

 

Hilahun Gao, Ph.D.

Chemistry Lead

serves as the Director of Sensor Chemistry at OpenCGM, where he leads the development of advanced wearable sensors designed to enhance the accuracy and convenience of glucose monitoring. His work aims to empower individuals with diabetes to better manage their health.

With over a decade of experience in biosensor technology development, Hilahun has contributed to both industry and academia, holding various research and leadership positions. He holds multiple patents and has presented his research at international conferences, with publications in prestigious peer-reviewed journals such as JACS and Analytical Chemistry.

Hilahun earned his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Xiamen, China, where he studied life sciences and analytical chemistry.
